AT&T Synapse

You can easily add SIPTRUNK as a SIP trunking provider to your AT&T Synapse device by following this guide.

1) Create a new SIP Account, giving it a descriptive name. Set the "Account Type" to "SIP Trunking"

2) Under "Basic Settings" add the following settings:

  • Account Enabled: Enabled.

  • Account Name: The same name as the SIP Account you created.

  • Max Calls: Set this as equal to the number of channels that you purchased from SIPTRUNK.

  • Display Name: Enter anything desired or leave blank.

  • User Name: Enter your SIPTRUNK trunk number.

  • Auth User Name: Enter your SIPTRUNK trunk number.

  • Auth User Password: Enter your SIPTRUNK trunk Password.

  • Primary Number: Set this to the DID you purchased or ported into SIPTRUNK.

3) Enter the following under "Registration Settings":

  • Registration Type: Dynamic Registration.

  • Registration Expires (Seconds): 300 (can be set shorter if desired).

4) Enter the following under "Server Settings":

SIP Server:

  • Address or URL: gw1.siptrunk.com
  • Port: 5060

Registrar Server:

  • Address or URL: gw1.siptrunk.com
  • Port: 5060

5) Under "Codec Configuration", ensure only G.711u and G.729 are in the "Enabled Codecs" column.

6) Fill out "Dialing Rules" to define your desired dial plan.

NOTE: Ensure that routes which are outbound to numbers in North America other than 911 and 933 are prefixed with a 1 when they are sent to SIPTRUNK. We need to receive 11 digits (ex. 1-555-555-5555) to connect the call. For more information, please see the article Setting Up Outbound Calling

7) Repeat steps 1-6 with a second unique name, changing only the URLs in Step 4 to gw2.siptrunk.com. This will ensure that our service is redundant in case gw1.siptrunk.com were to be unreachable. SIPTRUNK also now offers gw4 and gw5. See Interconnecting with SIPTRUNK for more information about our gateways and whitelisting recommendations.

Your device should now be configured. You can check the registration via the customer portal to confirm your connection to SIPTRUNK. If everything else appears ready, proceed to make some test calls. If you have any problems, please open a ticket with our Support team at support@siptrunk.com
