Where to Set Port-Out and Account PIN

SIP.US provides an account security PIN that doubles as the security PIN required for authorizing DID port-out requests. Customers may access or modify this PIN at any time via the Customer Portal. This walkthrough shows where to find and set the account security PIN.

1. Log into your SIP.US account control panel and navigate to the Profile tab as shown in the image below:

2. The Profile section contains various user info and settings including “Set Account Security PIN.” Click on this option. Refer to the image below:

3. The following message will display in a pop-up window: “This PIN will be used to protect your DID telephone numbers from unauthorized port-outs (slamming). We recommend you set a PIN code to be used as a security PIN on your account. If you decide to port your telephone numbers away in the future, you will need to provide this PIN code to the new carrier.

4. Copy and save the existing PIN or enter a new PIN and click Submit.

Additional Notes

  • An account security PIN is automatically generated on all accounts.

  • You may be required to provide this PIN for account changes when calling SIP.US.

  • It is recommended that you immediately change the account PIN if you are taking over management of an existing account or suspect your existing PIN has been compromised.

  • This PIN does not apply to fax ports. Contact the Porting team if you need the separate fax PIN.
