This guide can be used to set up your ShoreTel Connect system with SIPTRUNK. It assumes you have a static IP and your firewall is capable of static port translation.
1) Set up the codecs for use with the SIP trunk. SIPTRUNK supports G.711u-law (PCMU) and G.729. Navigate to "Features" > "Call Control" > "Codec Lists" and create a new Codec List as show in the image below.
2) Navigate to "System" > "Sites" then select your site and assign the Codec List created in Step 1 as shown in the image below:
3) Navigate to "Trunks" > "SIP Profiles" and create a new SIP trunk profile. Use the default system parameters and add the following two custom parameters shown in the image below:
Custom parameters:
- Hairpin=1
- SendEarlyMedia=1
4) Navigate to "Trunks" > "Trunk Groups" and create a new SIP trunk group as shown in the image below. Fill out a Name and Site for your install and then set the "Digest authentication" to None.
NOTE: A Username or Password is not required, because this guide is for the IP Authentication registration method. Refer to this guide on How to Set Up IP Authentication for your SIP trunk on the customer portal end.
5) Select the "INBOUND" tab on your Trunk Group. The major changes required are setting the "Number of digits from CO" to 12 and the setting the "Destination" for the inbound route.
6) Select the "OUTBOUND" tab on your Trunk Group. You should use the image below as a guide, but your selections will vary based on your needs:
7) Navigate to "Trunks" > "Trunks" and create a new trunk according to the image below:
8) Ensure you have added all SIPTRUNK IPs to your trusted IP list. See this article on Interconnecting with SIPTRUNK for more information on our gateways and whitelisting recommendations.
NOTE: Regarding IP Authentication, your external IP and port must match what the SIP trunk is programmed for in the customer portal.
Once you have completed all of these steps, you should be able to make and receive calls through your SIP trunk. If you experience issues, please open a ticket with our Support team at support@siptrunk.com.
