SIPTRUNK Configuration Guide for the Grandstream UCM61XX Firmware Version 1.0.18+

Welcome, if you are reading this guide it means that you have either just set up a DEMO account with us and ready to configure the Grandstream to your trunk, or you are already have a fully registered account with us and is looking into trying out a Grandstream UCM device.

This guide is going to go step by step in helping you configure the Grandstream and have you start making some calls.

Configuring a VoIP Trunk:

Click on VoIP Trunks, then click Add SIP Trunk.  This will bring you to the below display, see image below for configuration setup. Please note password is your Trunk Password found in your SIPTRUNK portal on the SIP Trunks page:

Once this filled in and saved, go back in to the trunk configuration settings as we are not done just yet. Once you go back in to Trunk configuration settings you will notice a few extra config fields and an Advanced Settings Tab. In the Basic Settings Tab, you will see a From Domain field, you will enter gw1.siptrunk.com. Please note without this, your outbound calls will not work

Head on over to the Advanced Settings and make the following adjustments:

1. Under Codes, select only PCMU and G.729

2. Change DID Mode to 'Request-Line'

Once you are done with configuring the Trunk you can check to see if the device is connected by either going to your SIP Trunk Account and under the SIP Trunking Tab you will see:

OR you can go to the System Status Tab ▸ Dashboard and you will see this on the bottom right corner:

Note: After you have successfully configured your device to the Trunk, duplicate the config replacing gw1.siptrunk.com with gw2.siptrunk.com in the 'Host Name' and 'From Domain' fields. This will create a registration to our secondary gateway to provide redundancy.

Creating Outbound Routes:

In the Extension/Trunk ▸ Outbound Routes Tab, click Add to add an outbound route. Create an outbound route called '11-Digit Dialing' and match the below settings:

Patterns: _1NXXNXXXXXX, _NXX, _N33 (on individual lines)

 Strip:

Prepend:

Failover: Select your trunk that registers to gw2.siptrunk.com

After you have set the first Outbound Rule, we are going to add another rule called '10-Digit Dialing'. With this new rule, after you enter the dial pattern as shown below you will enter:

Pattern: _NXXNXXXXXX

 Strip:

Prepend: 1

Failover: Select your trunk that registers to gw2.siptrunk.com and enter the same strip and prepend rules.

Create a third outbound rule called 'INTL' and enter the following:

Pattern: _011.

Strip: 3

Prepend:

Failover: Select your trunk that registers to gw2.siptrunk.com and enter the same strip and prepend rules.

Supplementary Note:

If you are behind NAT and your Trunk is showing "Registered" at SIP.US, but it is registered to a private IP Address you will need to navigate to "PBX" ---> "SIP Settings" ---> "- NAT" and input your external IP Address in the "External Host" field. You must also put your local network address in the "Local Network Address" field.
