Passwords resets are a common practice, whether it be due to a loss of stored credentials or for security purposes. Resetting your password is simple with SIPTRUNK, and this article explains how to perform this action step-by-step.
IMPORTANT: Follow the first section if you need to reset your password as the main account holder. If you are operating as a sub-user, see the next section.
How to Reset Your SIPTRUNK Password
1. The process for resetting your password begins with confirming the account email on file. If you already have access to that email inbox, you will be able to initiate the reset process. Proceed to step 2.
If you do not have access to that email, you may reach out to the Billing department for further assistance (we will need to verify your access before we can provide any personal account information).
2. Navigate to the SIPTRUNK website at https://www.siptrunk.com/ and select the "Customer Login" button in the top right.
3. Select the option "Forget your password?"
4. Enter your registered email address and a reset password link will be sent to the primary email address associated with the account.
5. Be sure to create a complex and secure new password.
Procedure for Sub-users
The process for password resets with sub-users requires logging into the account as the primary account holder to initiate the changes. Technically, SIPTRUNK does not support password resets for sub-users. The workaround method is to delete the sub-user and recreate the profile using the same account email address. The user can then refer to their email inbox and will receive a prompt to create a new password. The main account user just needs to ensure that the same permissions are added back for the new sub-user account.
1. Log in to the customer portal as the main account user and navigate to the "Sub User" section.
2. Click the "X" icon and then confirm the action to delete the sub-user.
3. Click the "Add a User" option and input the same user details and ensure the permissions are identical to before. Click "Submit" once ready to proceed.
4. An email will be sent to the user's email inbox. They will receive a temporary password. Upon initial login to the Customer Portal, the user will receive a prompt to create a permanent password.
5. The sub-user account settings should then appear green in the "Confirmed" and "Active" columns of the "Sub User" section and the password reset process is complete.
